Process Paper
Part 1: How I Chose my Topic
I chose my topic because I thought that Neil Armstrong impacted peoples’ lives by giving them a chance to dream. By not only telling, but showing them
that anything is possible, he made an impression on them. I also chose this topic because I thought it was important for people to understand how much of an
impact he made on the people of his time.
Part 2: How I Conducted my Research
I asked people who were alive during his lifetime, and how they were affected by him. Not only what they saw, but what they felt and took away from
his achievements. I also looked on NASA’s website and gathered information from there. I also looked to the New York Times, and read articles on his life and
accomplishments.
Part Three: How I Selected my Presentation Category and Created my Project
I selected this category because I thought getting the impact of Neil Armstrong walking on the moon influenced not only the country, but the world
greatly. Society was changed socially and mentally. People felt that the sky was the limit for them after that. I created a website for my project. I interviewed
some of my teachers and I asked about how they felt about the events that took place. I really wanted to dedicate a website to someone who changed our society
as we know it.
Part Four: How My Project Relates to the NHD Theme
It relates to the NHD theme because Neil Armstrong truly changed our society, country, and science as a whole. Not many people believed that it was
possible to walk on the moon, but he and the team behind him proved history wrong. He changed the way we think and feel about space and exploring outside
our world. It also made our country a strong force on the globe.
